Amy and Nathan were one of the first couples to contact me after launching the business and website. So it’d been quite a while since I’d seen them, and they’d had a second daughter since (congratulations).
The ceremony held at Sunnybrae Farm had a laid backed atmosphere and was attended by close friends and family; a really easy group of people to get along with (much like Amy & Nathan). There was laughter when the celebrant told the story of Nathan proposing (I hope you don’t mind it being retold here A & N). Apparently Nathan was holding the ring out for quite some time before Amy noticed, as she was concentrating hard on her x-box game.
Even though A & N said I could leave after some formal photos around the gardens of Sunnybrae, I insisted I’d head to Port Adelaide so we could get a shot of them waving as they sailed away down the Port River on their dolphin cruise reception.
Everything was going to plan; I arrived before the bridal party, had taken some shots of the table settings and the wedding cake with it’s xbox decoration. I was setting up to take some shots of the bridal party in front of the causeway bridge and their limousines, when it began to spit. We got the shots and everyone piled into the cars (including me) as it started to pour. The bridal party was escorted on to the ship from the cars with umbrellas, while I ran around taking as many pictures as I could in torrential rain and dark conditions. As I got the shot of the group waving from the rear of the ship, someone kindly yelled, “You’re crazy, go home!” I complied.
Great day, congratulations once again Amy & Nathan!
