This was my first time in 2 years photographing a wedding at Glen Ewin Estate, it’s always great to revisit places and see them in a different light (quite literally for a photographer). Shooting around noon in sunny conditions is never ideal, but with a bit of effort compelling photographs can be made; and when the couple love each other as evidently as Daphne and Shoun the job is made just that bit easier.
Daphne & Shoun are both from Chinese backgrounds – Shoun’s family being based in Malaysia and Daphne’s originally from Singapore, but now based in the US. And so guests came from literally all over the globe to help celebrate. The ceremony was administered by Shoun and Daphne’s Paradise Church Pastor, which made it a really intimate and quite entertaining affair as he knew a lot about Shoun & Daphne – it was like having a best friend run the ceremony for them. Daphne and Shoun and all their family have a great sense of humour, infectious laughs and beam with intelligence and love.
